MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – The combat readiness inspection of Belarus’ Armed Forces demonstrates quite a good level of training of the troops, BelTA learned from Anatoly Bulavko, member of the National Security Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.
The MP pointed out that the head of state authorizes similar inspections virtually every year. “Their key goal never changes: to make sure once again that the Armed Forces are ready to carry out their missions. And if there are problems, they need to be unearthed in order to reduce things to order as soon as possible and forestall some problems later on,” Anatoly Bulavko explained.
He noted that as of today the troops demonstrate rather good training standards and cope with their assigned tasks.
At the same time the member of the National Security Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus noted that the combat readiness inspection is comprehensive and covers military units, logistics support units, and combat units. It allows one more time making sure that in these tumultuous times Belarus’ Armed Forces are ready to adequately respond to any challenge and threat to the state.
BelTA reported earlier that the large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces authorized by the Belarus president began on 16 January. Aleksandr Lukashenko closely followed its progress the entire last week. A new system has been worked out to enable the president to place military units on combat alert without involving the Defense Ministry and the General Staff. The primary goal of this inspection is to see an objective picture. This is why the steps are sudden.
