MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – The European Union should not view its eastern neighbors as adversaries, Milan Uhrík, member of the European Parliament, leader of the Republic Movement party (Slovakia), Vice-Chair of the Europe of Sovereign Nations Group, told journalists, BelTA reports.

The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus hosted members of the European Parliament on 5 June.

“In fact, I believe that Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission and top leaders just cannot properly govern their countries. We have problems in the manufacturing sector. We have LGBT issues. When they see that Belarus and Russia, the BRICS countries are on the roll, this frightens them and their own incompetence prompts them to take hostile measures,” Milan Uhrík said.

“I would like to add that the European Union should not view its eastern neighbors as adversaries. I would like to say: what is happening now will not get us any further,” the parliamentarian remarked.
