Latvia extends night flight ban near border with Russia, Belarus

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) - Latvia has extended the ban on night flights near its border with Russia and Belarus for one week, TASS reported, citing a source in the country's air traffic control service.

The ban applies to flights in the border airspace with Russia and Belarus at altitudes of up to 6 km. It will be in effect from 17 November to 23 November, from 17:00 to 05:00 UTC (20:00 to 08:00 Minsk time), as it has been this current week.

A similar ban is also in effect until the end of the day on 23 November for flights along the border with Estonia and Lithuania. In all cases, an exception may be made for flights sanctioned by the military department.
