Large-scale army readiness test continues in Belarus

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) – A large-scale readiness test continues in Belarus' Armed Forces. More and more army units are getting involved in line with the plan, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

As of today a number of Air Force and Air Defense units will be brought to the state of readiness to perform their missions. The duty air defense forces will be beefed up with air defense missile systems S-300, Buk, and Osa. Air Force units will have to perform tasks involving the redeployment of some assets using the airfields of Baranovichi, Machulishchi, Bobruisk, Luninets, and Borovtsy.

Mechanized infantry units have reached their designated exercise areas and have started performing training missions, including those involving live fire practice at night. Units of the 19th Guards Independent Mechanized Brigade have established a bridge over the Berezina River thanks to combat engineers.

A number of army units and assets are returning to their permanent stations after completing the tasks they were assigned as part of the large-scale readiness test.
