GRODNO, 1 July (BelTA) – The interregional cooperation between Belarus and Russia is taking on new significance in today's conditions, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova said at the plenary session “The role of interregional cooperation in deepening the Union State integration processes” at the 9th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Grodno on 1 July, BelTA has learned.
“Over the past years, the forum has become one of the landmark events in the two countries. It always arouses the genuine interest of our fraternal peoples. It helps build human contacts based on mutual respect and trust, and promote a civilized interstate dialogue. In modern conditions, the interregional cooperation between our countries is taking on new significance,” Natalya Kochanova said.
According to her, the meetings of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia are traditionally candid, friendly, and result-oriented and, what is very important, highly efficient.
Numerous successful projects in the economy, social, humanitarian and other spheres suggest that the forum is very relevant, the speaker noted.
