MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – The real sector of the economy must be ready to adopt scientific innovations, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) Vladimir Karanik said during a meeting on 21 November hosted by the Belarusian president to discuss the development of the domestic science and the performance of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

He pointed out that he would inform not only, or not so much, about achievements, but rather about the main existing problems and measures aimed at improving the domestic science.

“Our task is not just to hand over an R&D product but to help put it into mass production,” the chairman of the NASB Presidium stated. “However, this requires improving the mechanisms and infrastructure for technology transfer. The real sector of the economy must be ready to adopt scientific innovations.”
“When we work in close cooperation with the industry and produce custom R&D products, we hand it over for them to put into production,” Vladimir Karanik said.

In his opinion, all factors must be taken into account here. “We need to jointly develop an additional methodology that would allow us to see all the channels for commercializing an R&D product and get an objective picture of this process,” the head of the NASB emphasized.
