VITEBSK, 21 June (BelTA) - Three days of jazz, a duet of dance ensembles, a solo performance by Dmitry Malikov - the program to be presented at the 35th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk at the regional Philharmonic Hall has been outlined by the festival directorate.
“The Philharmonic program features ten diverse projects. This year, thanks in part to support from the Union State, big jazz is returning to Vitebsk Oblast. We are planning three full days of jazz with around ten ensembles from Russia and eight from Belarus. On 18 July, People’s Artist of Russia, pianist, conductor, and composer Sergey Zhilin will perform his program Russian. Favorites. An Italian jazz group will also be joining us. It will be a completely new interpretation,” the festival directorate emphasized.
Russian composer, musician, and performer Dmitry Malikov will give a solo concert on the Philharmonic stage. Interestingly, his rider includes a Steinway grand piano, on which the artist will present his piano and compositional artistry. His concert is scheduled for 19 July.
Additionally, the Georgian quartet - the Bojgua family - will take the Philharmonic stage. Their voices can be enjoyed on 14 July.
“A very interesting program will be dedicated to Belarusian-Serbian friendship. The National Ensemble of Folk Dances and Songs of Serbia Kolo will join forces with the Vitebsk ensemble of dance, music, and song Talaka to present a program of national dances,” the directorate noted, adding that the performance can be seen on 17 July.
