Humanitarian cargo for refugees to arrive in Belarus on 25 November

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) - The WHO regional office will provide humanitarian cargo and it will arrive in Belarus on 25 November, WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge said when summing up the preliminary results of the visit to the transport and logistics center and hospitals in Grodno, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.

The cargo will consist of interagency emergency health kits for the refugees who are currently living in the transport and logistics center on the Belarusian-Polish border.

It is expected that the cargo will include 27 medical modules: 10 basic modules of IEHK 2017 with medicines, 10 basic modules of IEHK 2017 with consumables and equipment, 3 additional modules of IEHK 2017, and 4 basic modules of NCDK 2016 to treat the most frequent non-communicable diseases.

These WHO-recognized modules are most commonly used for medical care in emergencies. They include about 75 items of medicines of different groups: antibacterial, gastroprotective, antipyretic, hypotensive, anti-allergic, anticonvulsant, hormonal, antifungal, bronchodilator, antiseptic medicines, vitamins and others. All medications are of high quality. These modules also include about 100 items of consumables and equipment: dressings, medical instruments, gloves, disinfectants, syringes, needles, catheters, blood sampling kits, glucose meters, thermometers, otoscopes, tonometers and many more.

This number of medicines and materials is designed to assist an average of 10,000 people for three months. The recipient of the humanitarian aid in Belarus will be the Belarusian Red Cross Society.
