MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – The First News TV channel ran a story about MotoVelo Plant and explored how long it takes to assemble a motorcycle, BelTA learned.
The head of state often visited MotoVelo Plant. The enterprise was struggling and needed assistance. There were stories of private investors seeking to privatize it, building a residential development on the site of the factory. The elder generation remembers them all.
“We were about to look for new jobs because we were told that the products we make are not needed! ‘Motorcycles do not sell; bicycles are more than enough.’ But there was a person who thought differently - it was our president,” a mechanic of the factory shared his memories.
Vladimir Bukaty, a foreman of MotoVelo Plant, said as soon as it was made a state-run company, everything became stable. When it was private, workers did not get paid sometimes.
According to Pavel Smovsh, a mechanic at MotoVelo Plant, it takes an average half an hour to assemble a motorcycle. “If we start from scratch, it takes half an hour to assemble a motorcycle. At present there are 12 specialists working on the assembly line,” Pavel Smovsh added.
