Fireworks end Independence Day celebrations in Minsk

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – Festive events dedicated to Independence Day took place in every part of Belarus today. Fireworks were arranged in Minsk as the final part of the celebration, BelTA has learned.

Celebrations in Minsk began with the patriotic procession Belarus Remembers!. People walked along Nezavisimosti Avenue to Pobedy Square in order to lay flowers at the Eternal Fire.

Entertainment events in the city began at noon when the trade fair Made in Belarus opened outside the Sports Palace. In addition to shopping and interactive entertainment Minsk residents and visitors could have some snacks in a food court over there. Apart from that, an exhibition of the latest products of the Belarusian mechanical engineering industry was deployed in Oktyabrskaya Square on 2 July. MAZ, BelAZ, BelGee, and Amkodor showcased their products.

The festive gala concert Boundless Belarus began near the Minsk – Hero City stele at 21:00. Popular Belarusian pop singers and prominent dance companies took part in the concert. The opening of a musical fountain on the Svisloch River in Yanka Kupala Park was a key feature of the celebrations.

Dozens of bright flashes of the festive fireworks lit skies all over the country at 23:00. The festivities culminated in the nationwide campaign Let's Sing the Anthem Together.
