MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – A family has left Latvia because of concerns for their ten children, BelTA informs citing the State Border Committee of Belarus.
A married couple living in Riga took their ten children out of the European Union because of discrimination against Russian speakers. The family made this decision after they were stripped of a number of benefits and allowances and threatened to be deprived of parental rights in Latvia.
Today, on 17 October, the family of 12 entered Belarus using the visa waiver. Thus, they did not have to spend time on paperwork that is normally needed to obtain a visa.
Considering the difficult circumstances the big family faced in their own country, Belarus provides them with all kinds of assistance, the State Border Committee noted.
In particular, at the Grigorovshchina checkpoint they were put on a bus to Minsk that was provided by the Belarusian border service.
