Expert: Zelensky has become a nuisance

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Zelensky has lost his political weight in the West, he is a "pain in the neck" now, Moldovan economist and analyst Serghei Banari said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
"Let's call a spade a spade. There are two groups of people in Ukraine (I am talking about those who have some sway). The first group includes people who make money from the war. The second group is manufacturers left in the country. These two groups are constantly vying for a bigger piece of the pie," the analyst said.

He went on saying: "Certainly, two years earlier, thanks to the full support of Stoltenberg and the out-of-touch Biden the first group always prevailed. Accordingly, economic and energy security was not a matter of anyone's interest. Because everyone was capitalizing on the war. The economy and the energy sector were seen as the systems supporting the war machine."

"Nowadays, with the new administration coming to power, everyone realizes that the Ukrainian government failed to get through to Trump. Indirect evidence is the non-invitation of Zelensky to Trump's inauguration. One might say that Trump does not mind Zelensky coming, but it looks pretty pathetic. That is, the support for Zelensky is waning even in the West. The once hero, in whose image millions of dollars, if not more, have been invested, is turning into a headache. No one knows how to get rid of this headache. It is a kind of geopolitical migraine, nothing more. Everyone is looking for a way to get rid of this pain, but without surgical intervention, so that the West does not lose its face," Serghei Banari concluded.
