"On Point"
MINSK, 27 December (BelTA) - Demography is one of Belarus’ priority development areas, and peace in our country is crucial for the future, Andrei Bogodel, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Education and Science – Head of the Education and Methodology Department of the Faculty of the General Staff of the Armed Forces at the Military Academy of Belarus, said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
The expert recalled that the theme of demography was a through line of the second session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress, and the head of state promised mothers of large families that he would fulfill any request they made. “It doesn’t matter how he [the president] addressed the military, it doesn’t matter what he drew attention to. I believe the key takeaway for everyone was the demographic message. ‘Women, give birth to three children, give birth to three Belarusians, and demand from me whatever you want’. Now, could such a man possibly want war? Could Belarusians possibly want this war? I would never believe it in my life!” shared Andrei Bogodel.
The expert noted that events in the world defy comprehension and transcend everything humane that defines peace-loving Belarusians. “But I am happy, I am glad that our land is peaceful and flourishing today. And when the head of state was concluding, not just his speech, but summing up the entire Belarusian People’s Congress, he spoke such wonderful words. You understand, it couldn’t be said better. The love truly came from a person’s soul. He said: ‘There is no second Belarus like ours’. What we have behind us today, the beautiful sky above our heads, the wonderful land we have - there truly is no second one like it anywhere. And we will never love another land in our lives. Most importantly, no one else will ever love our land, the land we stand firmly on today, as much as we do,” Andrei Bogodel said.
