MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarus has always been and will remain a proponent of peace initiatives, Press Secretary of the Belarusian President Natalya Eismont told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA reports.
“The word that you can hear the most in the Palace of Independence today and throughout recent years is the word peace and this word comes mostly from the head of state,” Natalya Eismont emphasized.
She remarked that at the recent meeting with representatives of religious communities of Belarus, the head of state reiterated that peace is a supreme value today.
These days mark ten years since a historic event - Ukraine peace talks. The Normandy Format meeting was held in the Palace of Independence on 11-12 February 2015.
According to Natalya Eismont, Minsk has always been a platform to discuss peace and peace initiatives. “This is our foundation. We stood on it 10 years ago, we have stood on it throughout the entire history of the Republic of Belarus and our position will remain unchanged,” she said.
