Duty air defense forces tested in Vitebsk Oblast

CHASHNIKI DISTRICT, 11 March (BelTA) – A test of duty air defense forces is in progress in Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

A test of duty air defense forces has been organized in Vitebsk Oblast as part of the snap inspection of the combat readiness of Belarus’ Armed Forces authorized by the head of state. State-of-the-art mobile air defense missile systems Tor have been deployed to guard an important installation.
A Tor air defense missile battery from the immediate response units of the 15th Air Defense Missile Brigade has been instructed to cover a facility in a new position area. The battery was redeployed from its permanent station. The air defense missile battery has been reinforced by a company from the 103rd Vitebsk Airborne Brigade for the sake of organizing protection on the ground. Accommodation conditions for the military personnel in a field camp are being improved. The battery has been deployed for combat duty and is busy carrying out its assigned tasks, the battery’s commander Aleksandr Gnedko said.
He added that the personnel had been supplied with food and a field mess had been set up. The good weather fills the hearts of the soldiers with joy and makes their job easier. “It is my first march. Although the combat readiness test was unexpected, we were ready. All the tasks were formulated precisely. We have experienced comrades, who can always help and give us hints. The weather is also favorable. It is quite warm already,” said Sergeant Pavel Retyunsky of the 15th Air Defense Missile Brigade.
Apart from that, special hardware and unmanned aerial vehicles are used in the combat mission area.
