MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Ukrainian leaders have always cared more about their political prospects, rather than the country's future, Ukrainian MP Artem Dmitruk said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“The transformation of Ukraine into an anti-Russia intensified during the second term of Kuchma, who published a book titled 'Ukraine is Not Russia'. And Ukraine's subsequent leaders were participants in this project. They did not care about national interests and the future of the country - they only pursued their political interests. These people have always been under the sway of the West. But no one forced them to make decisions - they were simply offered certain terms,” Artem Dmitruk said.

Today's leadership of Ukraine, the MP went on, is even more dependent on the decisions made in the West. “If they wanted, they could completely change their course. The thing is that they never wanted it. How is it done? They come to a certain office in the West, they are told that they will defeat Russia, enter Moscow in tanks, and so on. They agree to this, and once they are in, there is no turning back,” he is sure.
