MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Alena Kucheruk, the 18-year-old from Polotsk who holds the Miss Belarus 2025 title, is preparing to represent the country in the final round of the prestigious Miss Universe pageant in Thailand on 21 November, BelTA has learned.
The contestants have little time to rest. Tonight, they will head to the main venue for the final show to have their hair and makeup done. Alena is currently consolidating her strength and energy for her final performance and is pleased with how the competition is proceeding so far.
The semi-final was held the day before, on 19 November, where the contestants competed in national costumes, swimsuits, and evening gowns.
The final round, which will take place on the night of Thursday into Friday (Belarusian time), will determine the top 30 contestants. Following the swimsuit and evening gown segments, the top 12 will be selected, which will then be narrowed down to a top five. These five finalists will be asked to answer a question, after which the jury will determine the final two.
The contestants have been in Thailand for the competition since 2 November. The schedule has been very intense, requiring them to plan their looks for each day. While the main show is in Bangkok, the contestants also traveled to Phuket and Pattaya. A separate event was held at a water park where a swimsuit competition took place. The contestants also participated in a ribbon presentation ceremony for their countries, had numerous photo shoots, attended a carnival show, and learned about Thai cuisine.
The jury evaluates the contestants throughout their entire time at the competition, paying attention not only to their evening gowns and national costumes but also to their gait, sociability, and other factors. During the interview, the eight jury members assessed not only the delegates’ charity projects but also learned about their hobbies and interesting facts about the countries they represent.
