MOSCOW, 24 November (BelTA) – A series of meetings of the statutory bodies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are scheduled to be held in Bishkek on 27 November, the CSTO press service told BelTA.
“On 27 November, a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils of the CSTO, as well as a session of the Collective Security Council, will be held in Bishkek under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan,” the press service said. “Participants will discuss current issues of joint work, including strengthening cooperation in combating drug trafficking and illegal migration.”
During the CSTO Collective Security Council session, participants plan to adopt a declaration reflecting the consolidated positions of member states on current security issues and to consider the candidacy of the CSTO Secretary General for the upcoming term from 2026 to 2029. Furthermore, an announcement of priorities for the Russian Federation’s upcoming chairmanship of the organization in 2026 is expected.
