MOSCOW, 16 December (BelTA) – The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has enhanced the training of its collective forces, incorporating lessons from contemporary conflicts, the CSTO press service told BelTA.
“Over the past three years, CSTO collective forces have carried out 20 joint exercises, including both command-staff and specialized drills. Key among these were the Interaction rapid response force exercises, the Unbreakable Brotherhood peacekeeping maneuvers, and the Frontier operations in Central Asia,” the press service stated.
Specialized units also conducted their own training, including reconnaissance units (Search), logistics units (Echelon), radiation, chemical, and biological defense units (Barrier), special forces units (Cobalt), and rescue units (Rock).
Operational efforts have also intensified: as part of Operation Mercenary, more than 2,500 individuals implicated in terrorist activities were detained, and Operation Illegal Migrant uncovered over 257,000 violations of immigration law.
