
MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) - The presidential election in Belarus was organized at a high level and in accordance with the national legislation of Belarus and generally accepted practice, Xie Xiaoyong, head of the observation mission of the People's Republic of China, said at a press conference in the CEC Information Center in Minsk on 27 January, BelTA learned.
“At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the observation mission from the People's Republic of China monitored the early voting and the main election day during the presidential election in Belarus. Within a few days, the Chinese observation mission visited 11 polling stations,” Xie Xiaoyong said.
The head of the Chinese observation mission noted that the observers inspected the work on the preparation of ballots, ballot boxes and voter identification, as well as the organization of voting. “Information about the candidates was published in full and on time. The electoral process was calm and smooth. We did not register any serious cases of violations. The election was widely and openly covered by the Belarusian media,” he emphasized.
