CEC head: High voter turnout in 2024 elections in Belarus

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – There is a high voter turnout in the parliamentary and local elections in Belarus, Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko said during a meeting with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda in Minsk on 23 February, BelTA has learned. 

"The voter turnout is quite lively. Early voting is going well. Young people are going to the polls," Igor Karpenko noted. 

According to Igor Karpenko, the CECs of Belarus and Tajikistan cooperate quite actively. "We maintain close ties within the framework of the CIS Advisory Board of Heads of Electoral Bodies. I welcome you and your representative delegation to Belarus," Igor Karpenko said. “Our presidents are friends, and this speaks volumes. The fact that our CECs maintain good relations is also a very good indicator."
