MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – The unmanned aerial vehicle of the helicopter variety Sky Truck, which was unveiled at the MILEX expo in Minsk in May 2025 for the first time, has successfully completed the first flight trials, representatives of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus told BelTA.
The Sky Truck drone has completed the first series of flight tests with cargo. In this manner the Belarusian company KB Unmanned Helicopters (aka UAVHELI) continued manufacturer’s trials with a series of successful flight trials.
The unmanned aerial vehicle uses a coaxial rotor scheme. The maximum takeoff weight of the UAV is 2,350kg and the flight duration is up to 4 hours. The cruising speed in flight is 160 kmph. The flight range is 480km.
The Sky Truck drone was initially designed around the Russian engine VK-650, however, later on it was adapted to fit a broader range of power packages. It enables greater flexibility for promoting the end product onto markets of various countries. Apart from that, the unmanned helicopter was initially designed to deliver cargoes to sea oil rigs. Later on the developers upgraded the drone’s functionality. Now the drone can be used for a broad range of cargo transportation missions. The drone can carry up to 600kg of useful load in a transport container under the drone’s fuselage.
