Belarusian cosmonaut completes experiments at ISS

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – The experiments the Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya was supposed to carry out on board the International Space Station (ISS) have been fulfilled, BelTA learned from Deputy Head of the Aerospace Activities Department of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) Ivan Bucha.

A briefing session took place in the Cosmonaut Hotel in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, during which representatives of various agencies discussed all the details of the forthcoming return of the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft crew with the Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya to Earth.

Ivan Bucha said: “I maintained communication with Marina Vasilevskaya throughout her stay at the International Space Station. Truth be told, the communication was one-sided: she had to call me. The satellite communication channel was routed via Houston, USA. Nevertheless, we got in touch every day.”

The NASB representative added that he had been receiving information about the progress of the scientific program from the mission control center every day. “Apart from that, I also received information about events of the entire mission program. Everything that was supposed to be done during the space flight, all the experiments have been fulfilled. The fact was also mentioned during the briefing,” Ivan Bucha noted.
