MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – A command and staff exercise for the 19th Guards Independent Mechanized Brigade is taking place and will last through 30 June. The exercise is supervised by Commander of the Northwest Operational Command, Major-General Aleksandr Naumenko, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The exercise focuses on managing army units and brigade units in the course of a defensive operation. It will evaluate readiness of staffs and improve their cohesion. It will allow commanding officers to improve their ability to organize a defensive action and manage troops during combat.
The staffs of the brigade and subordinate army units are expected to acquire skills of continuous and steady management of subordinate troops as they prepare for and carry out a defensive action. It will also improve the ability of troops to survive amid a complicated, rapidly changing situation taking into account analysis of results of modern wars and armed conflicts.
According to Aleksandr Naumenko, the brigade's officers and their subordinate personnel properly prepared for the exercise. The supervisor of the exercise is convinced that all the tasks will be fulfilled in a quality manner and on time.
