Belarusian army getting ready to once again welcome foreign inspectors

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – The Defense Ministry is conducting an educational muster on 17-18 January for officers in charge of implementing international arms control agreements in Belarusian army units, the Defense Ministry press service told BelTA.

The muster is supervised by Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department, Aide for International Military Cooperation to the Defense Minister, Colonel Valery Revenko. The press service noted that the purpose of the muster is to prepare officials in the Air Force and Air Defense Command, the Special Operations Forces Command, operational commands and units of the army for the resumption of foreign inspections in Belarus’ territory.

In particular, participants of the muster will get familiar with the main provisions of international treaties on arms control and with the procedure the officials are supposed to follow as they accompany foreign inspectors on a tour of various army units in the course of verification events.
