Belarus welcomes over 80,000 visa-waiver travelers this summer

MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Belarus has hosted 80,000 visa-waiver travelers this summer, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee.

“The reduction of the number of operating European border checkpoints on the border with Belarus and the artificial creation of multi-kilometer queues by the authorities of neighboring countries have not affected Europeans’ interest in visiting our country. From 1 June to 1 September 2025, Belarus has hosted 79,892 travelers from 38 countries included in the visa-waiver program. Aside from the traditionally highest number of visitors from Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland, the most common tourists in Belarus this summer were citizens of Germany and Estonia, with approximately 8,000 and 3,500 people, respectively,” the State Border Committee noted.

Since 1 January 2025, Belarus has welcomed 163,540 visa-waiver travelers. Over a period of more than three years, since 15 April 2022 a total of 1,195,276 European residents have visited Belarus.

The border committee also recalled that the head of state extended the visa-waiver program for citizens of 38 European countries. Foreigners will be able to come to Belarus without a visa until 31 December 2025. Detailed information about the visa waiver is available in the special section on the website of the State Border Committee and the Border of Belarus app.
