MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) - Belarus will observe a national moment of silence on 9 May at 12.00 noon, Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs Aleksandr Rumak told BelTA.
“On 9 May, the country will observe a minute of silence at 12.00 in memory of the feat of arms of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War. All churches will ring memorial bells at the same time,” Aleksandr Rumak said. “This will serve as a reminder of the numerous sacrifices that our people gave for freedom and independence, for the present and future generations to live in a peaceful country.”
The traffic will sound alarm horns. In some places it will stop.
Belarus remembers! Remembers everyone! Let us stop for a minute, let us remember all those to whom we owe our lives!
