Belarus taking part in World Fire and Rescue Sports Championships in Croatia

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – The 10th World Championship among young men and juniors and 6th World Championship among girls and juniors in Fire and Rescue Sports kicked off in Cakovec, Croatia on 10 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.

Taking part in this year's competitions are teams from nine countries: Belarus, Bulgaria, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, India, Estonia, and Croatia.

In the first half of the day the Belarusian athletes tested the sports equipment at Mladost Stadium, and the coaching staff made last adjustments.

The Credentials Committee of the World Championships in Fire and Rescue Sports also took place on 10 August. Representatives of the teams applied for participation in the world championships, and the panel of referees discussed the details of the competitions. According to the competition draw, Belarus will start on the second track among young men and juniors, and on the fourth track among girls and juniors.

The grand opening ceremony took place in the evening, with teams marching through the city's central square.
