MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) - A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik participated in the CIS Tourism Council meeting in Sochi, Russia on 27-29 May, BelTA learned from Belarus’ National Tourism Agency.
As part of the business program, the Belarusian delegation held bilateral meetings with representatives from Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. The meetings focused on the organization of state tourism management structures, attracting investments in tourism infrastructure, coordinating marketing efforts, and developing joint tourism products. In particular, the prospects were discussed to develop programs for the Chinese market, uniting the Central Asian republics, Belarus and Russia.
The council meeting featured an exhibition of CIS countries' tourism resources, where Belarus' potential was showcased by Dmitry Morozov, Director of the National Tourism Agency.
During the council meeting, Oleg Andreichik presented key indicators and trends in Belarusian tourism development, advancements in agro-ecotourism, and the certification process for tour guides and translators.
Among the recommendations adopted were: coordination in certification and training for tourism industry professionals within the CIS, development of network-based educational programs for guides, rescuers, and tourism managers. Special attention was paid to mountain and active tourism.
Proposed initiatives included the creation of a unified events calendar, synchronization of IT projects, and joint analytical research efforts.
