Belarus, Russia sign agreement on cooperation in healthcare

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – The Center for Examinations and Tests in Healthcare of the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus and the Scientific Center for Expert Evaluation of Medicinal Products of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation signed a memorandum of cooperation on 28 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus.

The document was signed by Dmitry Grinko, Director of the Center for Examinations and Tests in Healthcare, and Valentina Kosenko, Director General of the Scientific Center for Expertise of Medicinal Products.

Under the memorandum, the parties will develop cooperation in several areas. They plan to exchange analytical, statistical and legal information, work out common approaches to the regulation of the circulation of medicines within the Eurasian Economic Union, and consult each other on the optimization of their activities.

On the same day the Russian delegation met with Deputy Healthcare Minister Boris Androsyuk at the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus. The event was attended by representatives of the the Center for Examinations and Tests in Healthcare, the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, the Scientific Center for Expert Evaluation of Medicinal Products of Russia, the Institute of Pharmacopoeia and Standardization of Drugs in Circulation of Russia, the Belpharmprom holding company, and others.

"The parties discussed the policies of the Healthcare Ministries of the two countries to ensure the safety, efficacy and quality of medicines and pharmaceutical substances and also the possibility of developing common approaches and interaction in regulating the circulation of medicines in the EAEU," the press service said.

The parties also discussed the development of a unified policy in the field of treatment and quality control of medical products in the Union State.

The parties highlighted the need to develop the herd immunity in the population against the coronavirus infection through vaccination.
