MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – Terrorist cells recruited from among Belarus’ self-exiled opposition are training in Poland with assistance of the SWAT team GROM. Chief of the Investigative Office of Belarus’ State Security Committee (KGB) Konstantin Bychek made the statement on the air of the Belarusian TV channel ONT, BelTA has learned.
Konstantin Bychek said: “The [State Security] Committee has obtained credible data that some participants of [illegal armed] units are training in the territory of the Republic of Poland with assistance of the SWAT team GROM.”
According to the source, Polish authorities have been notified about it via channels used to counteract international terrorism. “However, in response to that, unfortunately, participants of these terrorist cells have stepped up clandestine security measures. For instance, Polish authorities recommend that they should obtain legal status as airsoft clubs and should restrict the distribution of propaganda materials in public space,” Konstantin Bychek stressed.
