MINSK, 29 December (BelTA) - The state will combat fakes on social media, Belarusian Information Minister Marat Markov told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The goal we have set is to dominate our own information field, and we will pursue it, including through social media. Our adversaries are not idle either, and they will likewise try to reach our young people through TikTok (primarily through TikTok, understanding that the audience there is predominantly young) and also through new social networks like Threads, where there are already over half a million Belarusians and the trend is positive,” said Marat Markov.
According to the minister, the attempt to brainwash young people and make them lose faith in their own state, to make them think that it is much better elsewhere, is a direct deception. “This is a direct fake, and we will fight these fakes,” he said.
