
MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) - Belarus holds a leading position in transplantation, Chairwoman of the Republika Srpska Council of Peoples Srebrenka Golić said during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko on 19 March, BelTA has learned.
"I would like to thank your president for the support for our country. Our message to you: cherish your president, continue developing your country, making it even more beautiful and stronger for future generations, and advance economically," Srebrenka Golić said. "As for healthcare, everyone knows that you are among leaders in transplantation. Many citizens of the Republic of Srpska have been your patients and made sure of the high quality and effectiveness of the medical care provided. Natalya Kochanova and I have been sharing a friendship for 10 years. Today we have discussed the possibility of establishing twinned relations between cities of the Republic of Srpska and Belarus."

Specific agreements on cooperation in scientific research are currently being developed, she added. "We have already signed such an agreement in medicine. We hope to sign another agreement to enhance student mobility and provide opportunities to participate in educational programs. One of the outcomes of the agreements reached during the visit of the president of Republika Srpska to Belarus last year was a project to purchase BELARUS tractors," Srebrenka Golić stated."We are continuing our cooperation and would like to host a delegation from both chambers of the Belarusian Parliament so that you can see how our country is developing."

The Republic of Srpska is an entity within the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, occupying 49% of the country under the Dayton Agreement of 1995. The economy of Republika Srpska is primarily based on industry and agriculture. The most developed sectors include the energy complex, wood processing, metallurgy, natural resource extraction, and textile production.
