
MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) - Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin visited one of the areas where the Belarus-Russia army exercise Zapad 2025 is taking place, the press service of the Ministry of Defense told BELTA.
The minister heard reports from officials on the operational situation and assessed the troops' readiness to carry out their assigned tasks. As part of Zapad 2025 on 13 September, the troops of operational formations conducted a defensive operation to repel the offensive of a conditional enemy on designated lines, held fortified areas, and inflicted fire damage on the conditional enemy.
The headquarters of the formations and military units managed the actions of their subordinate forces and assets. The Air Force and Air Defense Forces repelled strikes from the conditional enemy's air attack assets and provided close air support to the formation's troops. The command post of the regional grouping of forces managed the troops of the regional group of forces.
As previously reported, the Belarus-Russia army exercise Zapad 2025 kicked off on 12 September and will last until 16 September at training grounds in both states.
