MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Belarus and China have signed a joint declaration on strengthening cooperation in higher education, BelTA has learned.
The ceremony took place at the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History. The document was signed by Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics Vadim Bogush and Secretary of the Party Committee of Dalian University of Technology Xiang Changle.
“Today marks the third meeting of the Association of Belarusian and Chinese Universities. Ahead of the plenary session, a declaration on cooperation in higher education between Chinese and Belarusian universities was signed. This document covers several aspects that are of great importance for our countries,” Vadim Bogush said. “First and foremost, this relates to humanitarian cooperation, based on the shared approaches of Belarus and China to preserving historical memory, to assessing the role of the Soviet and Chinese peoples in the Victory in World War II, and in ensuring a peaceful world order. The declaration also covers a wide range of educational and scientific cooperation, which is developing not only within the framework of bilateral inter-university ties, but also through network interaction among the universities that are part of the association.”
During the plenary session, the results of the association’s activities will be summed up, participants will discuss key areas of Belarus-China cooperation in higher education and science and outline development prospects and priority tasks for the coming year. The signing of 13 cooperation agreements between Chinese and Belarusian partners will also expected.
