MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) - The European Union realizes that no one needs it anymore, economist and analyst Serghei Banari said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel. He also spoke about the regional forces it divided into.
Discussing the militant plans of the EU, Serghei Banari emphasized that it stopped to be subjective long time ago. “The European Union is an international geopolitical structure, which was one of the main parts of the unipolar world. It should be understood. Donald Trump has signed the death certificate of the unipolar world. The European Union understands perfectly well that it is no longer capable and is of no use to anyone. The leading forces of the European Union realize this in the first place,” the analyst said.
“France is playing its own game together with the UK. Some kind of peace plan, which they have been talking about for almost a month, some other things,” Serghei Banari said. “The European Union was once a single structure, which no longer exists. [Giorgia] Meloni who did an about-turn. We remember the narratives she used on her way to power. Then her rhetoric changed dramatically and she became almost the main associate of Ursula von der Leyen. We can also see that with Donald Trump coming to power, she turned away from Brussels and started wagging her tail toward Washington.”
The analyst urged not to lose sight of the Balkan grouping: “[Robert] Fico in Slovakia, [Viktor] Orban in Hungary that openly oppose Brussels and declare things directly opposite to its position.”
“Let us look at the situation with [Friedrich] Merz, who, long before the government is formed, is already losing heavily in his ratings, while Alternative for Germany is picking up all those votes,” said Serghei Banari. “Merz's government comes in for no more than two years. It will collapse. There will be snap elections, and the Alternative for Germany's rise to power is inevitable. Because it is the only force that can integrate Germany into the new multipolar world and breathe a second life into Germany after what Ursula von der Leyen, Angela Merkel, [Olaf] Scholz, [Robert] Habeck, Annalena Baerbock have done to the German economy, the speed with which they destroyed it. What had been built up over decades was destroyed in just a few years.”
According to the analyst, keeping in mind all these facts, it is no longer worth considering the European Union as a unified political and economic bloc. According to Serghei Banari, by the end of 2025, the European Union will begin to undergo such transformations, which will make it clear even to the most ardent supporters of the EU that the process of destruction is irreversible.
