Ambassadors of CIS countries tour Belarusian pavilion at VDNKh in Moscow

MOSCOW, 6 February (BelTA) - Ambassadors of a number of CIS countries to Russia visited the Belarusian pavilion at VDNKh in Moscow that is currently hosting the Days of Vitebsk Oblast, at the invitation of the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission Dmitry Krutoi, on 6 February, BelTA has learned.

The heads of the diplomatic missions of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, accompanied by Dmitry Krutoi, toured the exposition of Vitebsk Oblast, got acquainted with its history, culture and economic potential. The diplomats also took part in a workshop on painting Vitebsk gingerbread and applying colorful patterns on linen fabrics.

The ambassadors also toured the Belarusian trade stalls selling food, light industry products, and cosmetics. Representatives of the CIS countries were especially impressed by the Belarus president's merch store. "We were very impressed by what is now produced in Belarus, especially the store selling T-shirts with the quotes from the Belarusian president. I will definitely buy this merch for myself," Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vagharshak Harutyunyan said.

"I have been using Belarusian products for many years, because they are of high quality and have a minimum of additives," the Armenian diplomat said. "This is what distinguishes Belarusian products: organic ingredients, quality and affordability."

"I address words of gratitude to Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi, who invited us and introduced us to the culture and traditions of Belarus on the example of Vitebsk Oblast. I had the honor and opportunity to visit Belarus. I have always been amazed not only with the economic and industrial potential, but also with the beauty of the country. Most importantly, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with the people who live in Belarus: wonderful, hospitable and friendly people," Uzbekistan Ambassador to Russia Botirjon Asadov told reporters.

"I liked everything: condensed milk, bread, linen, and other products, and, of course, a concert by Vitebsk artists. My special words of gratitude to them," the Uzbekistan diplomat shared his impressions.

In turn, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Russia Dauren Abayev said that he had a chance to visit different cities and districts of Vitebsk Oblast. "I have pleasant memories not only of Polotsk and Vitebsk, but also of the whole Belarus. They are very hospitable people. Everything you do in Belarus, you do with love. Therefore, I always wish love and happiness to Belarus," he stressed.

Belarusian Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi summed up the results of the visit of the ambassadors of the CIS countries to the Belarusian pavilion. "Judging by the number of visitors to the pavilion the Days of Brest Oblast that took place a little earlier and now the Days of Vitebsk Oblast, we understand that this regional concept of our pavilion at VDNKh has an enormous effect. We see that there is interest in everything: food, industrial products, tourism potential, culture, and at every stall I am told that hundreds and hundreds of visitors discover Belarus every day, now through Vitebsk Oblast," he said.

All regions of Belarus will present their expositions at VDNKh before the country celebrates Independence Day. "Knowing that the Russian president has decided to extend the Russia expo at VDNKh for another six months, we are already thinking about what we will show after 3 July - Independence Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus. We need to come up with new concepts," the Belarusian ambassador stressed.

"Our enterprises from the regions that have yet to present themselves at VDNKh see news stories and understand that this is a great opportunity for them to promote their products in the Russian market. The networking potential here is enormous. So it is simply impossible not to take advantage of such opportunities," Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi noted.
