Lukashenko: Zelensky's ‘victory plan’ does not correspond to situation at the front

MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) –Vladimir Zelensky's proposals to resolve the conflict do not correspond to the situation at the front, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with the Central Television show on the NTV channel on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, BelTA has learned.

"There is this narrative that peace in Ukraine depends on the United States and Europe: should they want it, peace will come. Until they don't want it, it won't. Recently, from my point of view, the situation has changed: the Americans, and especially the Europeans seeing the situation at the front and in Kursk Oblast, now want peace more than Zelensky himself. Zelensky is now resisting the most, proposing different formats, different plans for peace talks, which are more like slogans. These proposals, most importantly, do not correspond to what is happening on the ground today," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed

He noted that Russia is slowly advancing in the main directions in Ukraine, and some Ukrainian units have already been ousted from the parts of Kursk Oblast region they held.

“Russia has liberated a third of the captured territory,” the president stated. “Maybe even more. Most importantly, Russians have learned how to fight them in Kursk Oblast, because they entered the country in groups: sabotage and reconnaissance groups, then other units, and groups of tactical battalions. Such tactics of Ukraine, these partisan actions have caught Russians flatfooted for a short period of time. Russians, however, quickly adapted and began to drive Ukrainians out.”
The Russian military say they can liberate the entire Kursk Oblast by the end of December. This means that this operation will be a failure for Ukraine, the head of state said. The Russians are successfully advancing in Donetsk Oblast as well.

“Therefore, Vladimir Zelensky's peace plan does not correlate with what is happening at the front and in Kursk Oblast. They call it the ‘victory plan’. It is a rather strange name in the current circumstances,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
