Lukashenko wants industrial group Belkhudozhpromysly modernized

MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko introduced Yuri Nazarov as the new head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate on 22 August and gave instructions to modernize organizations of the industrial group Belkhudozhpromysly, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted: “Matters of retooling and modernization of Belkhudozhpromysly organizations require your close attention.”

The president reminded that these organizations were doomed after the USSR collapse because they had been abandoned. He decided to preserve the worker collectives so that folk arts and crafts would not disappear. “These are unique people. They should train not only their kids but everyone, who wants to learn the craft,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “This is why I tried to preserve Belkhudozhpromysly enterprises. If you need to improve something (they don't ask much), you should support them. We cannot lose this school.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed he wants artistic traditions revived and preserved for a reason. “These enterprises are unique from the point of view of history, originality, and human skills,” he explained. “However, in modern conditions it is insufficient to preserve the manufacturing of products of arts and crafts in its original form. It is necessary to modernize it, constantly work to master the manufacturing of new products that enjoy demand. Experience and traditions should be passed on to our kids.”
