MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko went to a national junior biathlon and ski race competition for prizes of the president of Belarus on 26 February. The competition is taking place at the national Olympic training center for winter sports Raubichi, BelTA has learned.
The head of state is expected to test the ski track together with biathletes, start a biathlon relay race for guys and girls born in 2005-2006. He will also watch the competition and will participate in the award ceremony.
Aleksandr Lukashenko mentioned his intention to visit the competition on 24 February. He said: “I want to see the reserves on Saturday. The Olympic Games were a failure so I want to see who the coaches will show me, our closest reserves, who will climb the mountains in Italy [during the 2026 Winter Olympics]. It is disgraceful that we spend money and see no desired results.”
