ZHITKOVICHI, 7 November (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is continuing his working trip to Polesie. The head of state is expected to visit Zhitkovichi District on 7 November, BelTA has learned.
The head of state will be briefed on the social and economic development of Gomel Oblast and Zhitkovichi District. The president is set to review the development of the industrial potential of Zhitkovichi.
Aleksandr Lukashenko will visit the Saturn-1 company, which specializes in manufacturing components, assemblies, and other parts for railway rolling stock. The enterprise was founded in 1991. It also produces goods for the mining, oil extraction, and construction industries, performing the full cycle of processing and manufacturing complex metal products and structures.
The head of state also plans to visit Zhitkovichi Engine-Building Plant. The focus there will be on developing modern production lines for gear pumps, as well as parts and components for diesel engines and agricultural machinery. As part of an investment project running from 2022 to 2025, the company is acquiring modern metalworking equipment.
According to information on the plant's website, one of its most significant current areas of work is aviation. It cooperates with about 10 aviation enterprises and companies from Belarus and Russia, supplying them with components and spare parts. The plant was established in 1980 and is now part of Minsk Motor Plant.
On 6 November, the head of state visited Mozyr District, where he took part in the opening ceremony of a renovated bridge over the Pripyat River.
