MOZYR DISTRICT, 2 August (BelTA) – There will be no war in Belarus if the authorities and people do their jobs well, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he spoke to the residents of the agro-town of Prudok on 2 August, BelTA has learned.
“Things are easier with residents of Gomel Oblast and the south of Brest Oblast. I always tell them if you do not want war to happen, then let's work,” the head of state said.
“We are ready to work!” the locals responded.
Aleksandr Lukashenko added that Belarus is ready to defend itself if necessary, but war is always a bad thing. “War means deaths on all sides. Thousands, thousands of people die in war. We do not need war. This is the matter under my purview. If there are problems, I will turn to you. We will take weapons and defend our land. It's better not to fight, and we do not want this war,” the Belarusian leader said.
“We are always there for you!” the residents of the agro-town supported the president.

“If we all do our jobs well, believe me, there will be no war.
Everything depends on you, not on me. You see that we are doing our best
to prevent such a development,” the president emphasized. “They decided
to threaten us, we lined up our army along the border. They withdrew
their troops, we withdrew ours. We are not at war, we do not want to
fight.”
