MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko talked to President of Russia Vladimir Putin over the phone in the evening on 20 January, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin discussed prospects of stepping diversified cooperation within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in detail as well as interaction as part of the Eurasian Economic Union and other integration bodies. A number of personnel matters were discussed as well.
Topical items on the international agenda were touched upon as well as the overall situation in the world.
Close attention was paid to the fight against the spread of COVID-19. Previous agreements on continued joint efforts and further tight coordination of Belarus and Russia in counteracting this infection were reaffirmed.
