MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent National Day greetings to Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, his deputy Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of the country, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.
“Our country highly appreciates the achievements of the Qatari leadership who is committed to promoting sustainable development of the state, improving the well-being of the people and preserving order in their native land,” the Belarusian leader said in his congratulatory message to the Emir of Qatar.
The head of state emphasized that Minsk supports Doha's efforts to end regional conflicts, restore security and establish peace in the Middle East.
“I am glad to note that our peoples share common views on traditional family values, the need to preserve cultural heritage and national identity,” the congratulatory message reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko welcomed the willingness of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to come to Belarus on a visit and discuss steps to increase the dynamics of bilateral cooperation. The president invited the Emir of Qatar to visit Minsk in the warm season, from May to September 2025.
In his message of congratulations to Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the head of state noted that Belarus and Qatar have established relations of true friendship and trust, as evidenced by active interstate contacts at all levels, fruitful joint work of the governments in various areas, mutual support in the international arena.
