MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent Austrian National Day greetings to Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.
“Belarus would like to expand bilateral contacts and counts on more effective interaction with a view to maintaining a dialogue with the European Union,” the message reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the constructive and candid talks that took place during the official high-level visit to Vienna this year once again confirmed the great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two states. “We have always treated all the agreements in an earnest and responsible way. A testimony to that is the memorial installed in Trostenets, various investment projects, long-term humanitarian ties and contacts between Belarusians and Austrians,” the president noted.
“In today's difficult circumstances we should not allow eroding all the gains we have made,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
He wished Alexander Van der Bellen good health and fruitful work, and the people of Austria - peace and accord.
