BOBRUISK, 17 June (BelTA) – Belarus will have to respond to Poland's wish to obtain Western Ukraine, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he talked to the staff of the Belshina company in Bobruisk, BelTA has learned.
The head of state noted that Poland is already dreaming of Western Ukraine: “We will have to respond to this, because we cannot allow the Poles to encircle us. This is a dangerous development. I once said that the Ukrainians would ask us and the Russians to help them maintain their integrity, so that no one would chop off their territory.”
According to the president, the Americans stand behind Poland, they provide finances and weapons, and deploy armed forces. “We see this. Therefore, I have to keep the armed forces on the alert both in the west and in the south. I deployed ten divisions along the border to back up the border guards, so as no one will be able to penetrate Belarus, as there were plans to do it,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
