MINSK, 21 January (BelTA) - Donald Trump canceling his predecessor's decrees upon taking office is a sign of instability, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with the labor collective of Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) on 21 January, BelTA has learned.
“One president creates decrees and then the other one revokes them… This describes the country. Not just this president, but the whole country. It means that there is serious instability. They do not have the main thing: continuity,” the head of state said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that a country's policy is assessed primarily from the point of view of continuity. In this regard, the president mentioned the succession of generations in Belarus. “Life is going on, it cannot be stopped. Even if there is another president, he does not need to berate me. We need to leave the country to decent people so that the policy that you support will continue,” he said.
The president cited the example of head of MAZ-SPORTavto team Sergei Vyazovich, whose main task is not to win the rally, but to prepare decent successors. “If there is no continuity, what is all this life for? There should be continuity,” the Belarusian leader believes.
