Lukashenko names three drivers for Belarus’ economic growth

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko named three drivers of growth to help the country develop further: efficiency, import substitution and export. He made the statement at a meeting to discuss the state and prospects of the mining industry and geological exploration works on 12 March, BelTA has learned.

“Our common goal is not only to make products with maximum use of domestic raw materials. There are three whales, three drivers of growth that will help us develop further. They are efficiency, import substitution and export,” the president said.

The head of state emphasized the inadmissibility of unjustified mediation and import of products that Belarus makes itself. Aleksandr Lukashenko urged to improve the quality of work: “Let’s review all approaches to the quality of work in the Year of Quality. If there are systemic problems that require my attention, let me know. Decisions will be taken immediately.”

“There cannot be secondary topics in what concerns the economy, because the sovereignty of our country and the wellbeing of our people depend on its sustainability. This is extremely important,” the president said.
