MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with the well-known athlete, Russian state and political figure Aleksandr Karelin, BelTA has learned.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state warmly welcomed the guest, noting his unique achievements in sport: 888 wins in wrestling against only 5 defeats.
"I have been following your new creative projects. Very interesting. How many people are needed to prepare such a project combining history and so on?" the head of state asked.
"It's actually a small group. The main thing is attitude," Aleksandr Karelin replied.
Aleksandr Karelin said that the day before he spent three and a half hours in the Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk. He had a long talk with a docent who is over 70 and who has worked most of her life in the museum. "When you have such people, then you do not need a permanent staff. You just need to find them, give them the opportunity, the voice. And then everything will turn out right," he said.
