BEIJING, 2 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Secretariat and Director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, in Beijing, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian head of state described China as a true friend of Belarus: “Over the thirty years of our cooperation I cannot recall a single instance where you have treated our country somehow disrespectfully, where you have not supported Belarus, or where you have not responded kindly to our requests. In short, you are true friends.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed hope that the cooperation avenue outlined during his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, with a focus on industrial cooperation, will yield very good fruits and results.

During the meeting with Cai Qi the head of state noted that at such events it is customary to express standard diplomatic pleasantries, thanking the host for the hospitality. “In this case, at this moment, I want to absolutely sincerely thank you (this is not about diplomacy, nor is it about being diplomatic), express my heartfelt appreciation for everything you have done and are doing for Belarus as a whole and during my visit and the visit of the delegation. As a great country and a representative of a great civilization, you do the unimaginable for your guests. Not only for me, but for all guests. There are more than thirty of them here [at the level of country leaders and heads of international organizations]. You ensure they leave China in good spirits and remain your friends forever,” the president stressed.
He noted it is important for relations between the states. However, as far as cooperation with Belarus is concerned, another aspect is even more important: “We have managed to build a solid foundation for our relations. We have strong trade and economic relations. We have no problems in the realms of politics or diplomacy. We support each other on international platforms always and at every turn. We have established the closest and friendliest relations between the leaders of the countries.”
In turn, Cai Qi stressed that Chinese-Belarusian relations of all-weather all-round strategic partnership continue developing rapidly under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries: “One can say that our relations have entered the period of the best development in their history.”

The official remarked that a substantial meeting of Aleksandr Lukashenko and Xi Jinping had taken place the other day. During the meeting a number of agreements were reached and new plans for further advancement of Chinese-Belarusian relations were sketched out.
Cai Qi assured the Chinese side is ready to jointly realize all the reached agreements, promote multifaceted cooperation, and fill the bilateral relations with new content.
He also thanked Aleksandr Lukashenko for accepting the invitation to attend festivities on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Japanese militarism and the end of World War Two in Beijing on 3 September.
